Discription of resource

A structured series of short activities to prepare pupils for an exposition writing task on the theme of Cycling. Pupils have opportunities to complete comprehension exercises and study sample essays with reference to the examination marking scheme. The resource also includes guidance on planning and writing and essay. Developing pupils’ proof reading and self –assessment skills are central to this unit of work. The author recommends that teachers model effectively beforehand to ensure that pupils have a sound understanding of the features of exposition writing.
